Children get ready to read long before they start school. This is called early literacy. It is simply what children know about reading and writing before they can read or write. By reading aloud to your child, you can help them get ready to read! This is why we encourage you to enroll your child in our “1,000 Books Before Kindergarten” Reading Initiative.
Check out our 1KBK Book Packs while you are here! We have over 100 thematic book packs for your family to read and enjoy! Each pack counts as one checkout and are available only to Center Moriches Library card holders.
