Although some of our programs had to be cancelled this year, including the FOL bus trips, we still celebrated 2020 Friends of the Library Week with candle holder making and pumpkin painting for children, teens and adults. FOL also assisted the library on shredding day and collected non‐perishable
food items for local food pantries. Programs already in place continued when permitted, such as, refreshments for Teen Movie Night, the Knitting Circle, support of the 1000 Books Before Kindergarten program, Monday afternoon games, Poetry and Prose, planting and maintaining the various plants and
flowers in the library’s west garden, holiday gifts to library staff, and our outreach programs: Library at the Laundromat and the Little Free Library at Kaler’s Pond. Although our two planned book sales were cancelled, FOL held three outside pop-up sales which were very successful. We are also proud to report that our very first Scholarship program yielded two special seniors receiving awards.
We look forward to 2021 with great anticipation of a safer and healthier year ahead for the library and its patrons. Please watch for all our program announcements on this website and in the Center Moriches Library Newsletters throughout the year.
