Thrift Shelves

The thrift shelves are open for your perusal and are available to the public year round. Please come and visit our Thrift Shelf area. There are plenty of books on many subjects and an abundance of gently used novels, hardback and softcover. We also have a vast array of children’s books, and at certain times books on CD, music CDs, and movies on DVD. Keep an eye out for our special sales.

Suggested donations are $1.00-hard covers, 50¢-soft covers, four for $1.00-children’s books, $1.00 – DVDs, 50¢ – CDs. Monetary donations are placed in the FOL donation mailbox which is located on top of the bookcase along the glass wall near the copy machine as you enter the library. All proceeds from the sale of these items go to supporting various programs at the library. We thank you for your support and donations.

Book Sales

FOL held their Annual Fall Book Sale on September 28, 29 and 30, 2023. It was a huge success, as always! Many came, purchased books, and donated in support of the FOL and the Library. If you aren’t able to come to any of our book sales, or passed up a book or two that you wish you could have purchased, please visit our thrift shelves which are open year round. All proceeds from FOL book sales and thrift shelves directly support the Center Moriches Free Public Library. Funds raised go toward beneficial Library programs, events and enhancements to Library equipment and provisions that greatly benefit the patrons, community and staff.

Book sales are staffed entirely by volunteers from the FOL. Perhaps you might like to help by volunteering.  Come join us anytime!

Donate Books/DVDs

FOL appreciates and gladly accepts donations of gently used materials in all subjects: fiction, non-fiction, audio books on CD, music on CD, movies on DVD, all children’s books, and books in all foreign languages. Please do not donate video tapes, audio cassettes, bootleg or damaged discs. Items should be free of odor, mold, dust, dirt, or water damage and should not be yellowed, frayed, torn, marked or chewed. Magazines, encyclopedias, or sets of old publication collections such as National Geographic will not be accepted. All donations must be placed in the donation bins which are located in the parking lot directly at the back far right of the library. Please note that the donation bins are closed from December 1st through April 1st and we cannot accept donations during that time.
